About Living in Québec, Quebec
Transportation
The preferred method to navigate Québec is very often driving. The majority of properties for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Duplessis, and it is very easy to park. In contrast, commuting by transit can be difficult in Québec due to the infrequent service. Nonetheless, residents benefit from over 150 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Québec is not especially convenient for walking since few daily errands can be run without having to use a vehicle. Even though cycling is more practical in some pockets than others, and the bicycling network is good, Québec is also not particularly appropriate for cycling as cyclists encounter a significant amount of hills.
Services
The nearest supermarket in Québec is usually only a reasonably short walk away. A small selection of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well. With respect to education, it is a rather short walk to get to daycares and primary schools from most houses for sale in this city. On the other hand, families may consider it challenging to get to high schools as a pedestrian.
Character
Québec is a fairly good city to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. There are over 450 parks nearby for residents to enjoy, such as Base de plein air de Sainte-Foy and Parc des Champs-de-Bataille, making them easy to access. This city is quiet overall, as the streets are peaceful - although that is not the case closer to Autoroute Duplessis, Autoroute Robert-Bourassa, the airport (YQB) or one of the railway lines.
