Grand Boulevard is a fairly convenient part of City of North Vancouver for pedestrians; most daily needs are easy to meet by walking, and various businesses are nearby. However, it is challenging to commute by bike in this area since the cycling infrastructure is fairly poor, and there is a significant amount of elevation changes. Travelling by transit can be at times difficult in Grand Boulevard due to the low service level. Nonetheless, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses. On the other hand, the best mode of transportation in Grand Boulevard is usually a car. It is easy to park, and most properties for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway.

This neighbourhood is also fairly good for those who enjoy quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some areas can be quite noisy, especially close to Trans-Canada Highway.
